R U OK? DAY BARBECUE BREAKFAST 2025

A Conversation That Can Change a Life

R U OK? is a national suicide prevention charity dedicated to inspiring and empowering people to check in with those around them. Their simple but powerful message – “a conversation can change a life” – reminds us that every day is the right day to ask the question.

A Look Back

Last year’s R U OK? Day Breakfast was a resounding success, bringing together industry leaders, community members, and support networks. Attendees left with valuable insights, stronger connections, and practical tools to better support mental health in the workplace.

How to Start the Conversation

R U OK? encourages us all to follow four simple steps:

  1. Ask – Choose the right moment and ask “R U OK?” with genuine care.

  2. Listen – Give your full attention without judgement.

  3. Encourage Action – Suggest next steps or support services if needed.

  4. Check In – Follow up later to show ongoing care.

Why It Matters

For industries like ours – where pressure and pace can be high – looking out for one another is vital. The annual R U OK? Day Breakfast reminds us that these conversations don’t need to wait for a “right time.” Every day is the right day to check in, and together we can build safer, healthier, and more connected communities.
