25 June One Financial Year Down, Another Begins | Dean's Desk 11 June 25, 2026 By Admin RIN Dean's Desk 0 It's that time of year again. One financial year wraps up, another begins, and for many of us it's a chance to reflect before turning our attention to what's next. Looking back, it's been one of RIN's biggest years yet. We've delivered record-breaking events, celebrated consistent sell-outs, launched new event formats, responded quickly with pop-up initiatives to support our members and continued advocating strongly for our region. Most importantly, we've continued bringing people together. Here's a quick look at what's on my mind as we kick off the new financial year. 1. Thank You for an Incredible Year Before looking ahead, I simply want to say thank you. To our members, sponsors, partners, volunteers and everyone who has attended an event, shared an idea, supported an initiative or contributed to our network this year, thank you. Everything RIN achieves is built on collaboration, and this past financial year has been a great reminder of what we can accomplish when our region comes together. I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved, but I'm even more excited about what's still to come. 2. RIN Awards – Celebrate the Wins If there's one thing I'd ask you to do this week, it's finalise your RIN Awards nomination. In uncertain times, celebrating success becomes even more important. Our region is full of businesses quietly doing remarkable things. Innovative projects, strong cultures, manufacturing excellence, community contributions and businesses expanding into new markets. The RIN Awards give us the opportunity to shine a light on those achievements. Whether you're nominating your own business or recognising someone else's, don't assume someone else will do it. Let's celebrate the incredible capability that exists across our region. The team has made it easier than ever to submit a nomination, so there's really no excuse not to get involved. Jump online at https://awards.rin.org.au and tell us your story. 3. July Is Looking Busy We've released our July calendar a little earlier than usual, and for good reason. Our monthly event calendars have become incredibly popular, and with so much happening in July, we wanted to give everyone plenty of notice to get organised. Between three RIN events, QME, and a whole suite of industry events we're proud to support, it's shaping up to be one of our busiest months of the year. Take a look, lock a few dates into the diary and get ready. There'll be plenty of opportunities to learn, connect and catch up with industry over the coming weeks. 4. New Financial Year Outlook One event I'm particularly looking forward to this month is our New Financial Year Outlook, proudly presented with Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank. We'll hear from David Robertson, Chief Economist at Bendigo Bank, as he unpacks the economic outlook, interest rates, inflation and what businesses should be watching as we head into the new financial year. We've deliberately kept tickets affordable at just $40, with discounted team bundles available, because we want as many businesses as possible to have access to these insights. If you're planning for the year ahead, I'd encourage you to join us. I think it'll be well worth the morning. Looking Ahead A new year always brings fresh opportunities, and I genuinely believe there's plenty to look forward to. I'll be sneaking away for a short break before things ramp up again, but I look forward to catching up with many of you as we kick off the new financial year together. Thanks again for being part of another fantastic year.
